1. The things that are easy to do are also easy not to do.
2. Don’t wish things were easier. Wish you were better.
3. Life doesn’t respond to need. Life responds to deserve.
There are three key concepts I learned from Jim Rohn that have changed my life and my business.
Have you ever had one of those days where you thought about quitting your Network Marketing business? You got so discouraged that you just thought this wasn’t for you anymore. And if you’ve never thought that, keep listening because everyone that has ever been involved in this profession has had those days, and you will too.
How hungry are you? Have you ever heard about a great restaurant and everybody got you so excited about it that you beome hungry for that awesome meal you’re going to have? But then someone comes up and offers you a potato chip. And you’re hungry, so you take that potato chip. And then you take another. It’s okay, most people don’t really go big in Network Marketing; have another potato chip. After a while, you’ve eaten the whole bag and you’ve forgotten about that beautiful meal.
Have you ever found yourself afraid to do something in Network Marketing? Maybe you're afraid to make phone calls, do a presentation, follow up, or get people started. I think all of us have found ourselves afraid of something inside this profession from time to time. Our insecurities pop up, and we find ourselves frozen.
I was four or five years into my Network Marketing career before I realized that prospecting was actually a skill. I had always thought that prospecting was just a natural resource, not a skill that could be nurtured and developed. So, I decided to look at what successful people were doing.
Have you ever lost a week? You get a little bit of momentum and all of a sudden, you get distracted by this or that. And all of a sudden, the day is gone! Somebody drops by the house, and another day is gone. Someone suggests that you go to the movies, and another day is gone...
Today, I asked Jack Canfield to share with us his thoughts on the value of Network Marketing and the intelligence of the people involved in the profession.
Jack said that people in Network Marketing are extremely brilliant people, and they’re extremely successful because of that. More and more brilliant people like neurosurgeons, lawyers with large practices, VPs of international companies, have all been attracted to Network Marketing and been super successful. When he speaks at Network Marketing conferences, the people he meets there are all just extremely bright people.
The fastest path I know to become a Network Marketing professional is to improve the people you’re spending time with. One of the early lessons I learned from my parents is to be careful who you become friends with because your friends have an influence on your life.
Do you remember Todd Ellingson? Back at Go Pro Recruiting Mastery, Eric talked with Todd about what was holding him back in his business and Todd’s confidence was transformed before our eyes.
We ran into Todd at the Most Powerful Women in Network Marketing event, and we were so excited to see the difference!
I want to discuss how to talk to prospects. So many people go out and immediately want to give prospects every fact and figure about the product, compensation plan, company, etc. In my opinion, this strategy is jumping the gun.
Would you be surprised to hear that you are an educator because you’re involved in Network Marketing? You are in the education business. We educate people to the point that they understand what it is that we have to offer whether it is the opportunity, product, or service.
Most people will tell you to set a goal, create some activities around that goal, and then form new habits that will help you reach that goal. Those are great steps to achieve results, but I want to share with you a completely different mindset.
